Developing Cricketers

A player who has a genuine love of the game, a strong work ethic and is committed to making the most of their ability is well on the way to achieving their dreams. Our program is primarily designed to educate players about the skills of the game, enhance abilities and provide guidance to players who aspire to play Premier Cricket and achieve higher honours.

Development Match

Sunday 17 February 2008

Frankston Heat took on the Ringwood Rams in the annual development match between the two Premier clubs. Heat captain Peter Sofra won the toss and had no hesitation in electing to bat in perfect conditions at Central Reserve, Glen Waverley.

The innings started brightly for the Heat with openers Gareth Corcoran 16 ret and Luke Marshall 33 ret combining for 54 runs off the first 8 overs. Other notable contributions throughout the 42 over innings came from Patrick Hall 18 ret and Anthony Craddock 21 ret as the Heat compiled 9/167.

The Rams started slowly against tight line bowling from Mac Watson and Gareth Corcoran. Leg Spinner Cam Macaulay was on target early but the Rams batters quickly picked up the pace and the Heat boys were forced to chase leather around the outfield. Lachie Whitfield performing the best in the outfield with his strong and accurate return throws. Ryan Lynch collected 2 for 32 before the Rams innings closed at 7/167.

Thankyou to Ringwood Cricket Club and Cricket Victoria for use of the excellent facilities at Central Reserve, Glen Waverley.

The next Emerging Players Squad  training session is Thursday 13 March 4.30pm-5.30pm at Jubilee Park, Frankston.
